All dogs must pass the interview process to assure that they are both dog and people-friendly. We take our commitment to safety seriously, and even though we love all dogs, not every dog can be a Choo Choo Camper. It is important for the health and safety of all concerned that the dogs attending dog camp do not have aggressive tendencies and show excessive shyness. It is also important that the dogs are not food or toy possessive, are not overly protective of territory, or are stressed easily in new situations.
At the screening appointment your dog will be tested for attitude and human handling. This includes all four paws being picked up, petting all over your dog’s body, a big restraint hug, teeth and ear check and to see how comfortable your dog is with this kind of touch both physically and emotionally.
All new dogs need to be at daycare between 7:30 and 8:00 am. Your dog will then be introduced to each dog in the existing pack one at a time. As the morning goes on they will then be introduced to 2, then 3, and so on, increasing the number of dogs with their comfort level.
